Argumentative Argument For Vaccinations - 1238 Words

As a parent, there are countless tough decisions to make. Parents are responsible for their child’s well-being, which is intense pressure. They are obligated to decide what they think is in the best interest of their own child. There is also pressure from the media, and other parents, on how people should raise their children and what decisions are actually in the child’s best interest. One of the tough decisions that parents must determine is whether to have their child vaccinated or not. There is excessive disagreement about whether vaccinating children is beneficial or detrimental. There are also restrictions put in place by the government that encourage vaccines, such as children must have vaccinations to attend public school. By law, parents must make sure their children are attending public school, private school, or home school. Public school requires children to be vaccinated, as well as college universities. For multiple private schools, it is their decision to require vaccines or not. If a child participates in homeschooling, then they do not â€Å"need† to have vaccinations, but if they attend any camping or scout activities, they may be required to receive vaccines. Parents should be able to decide what is best for their child, based on their child’s needs and their own personal opinions, without pressure from outside influences. There is a strong argument against some vaccinations due to claims of potentially harmful (or fatal) side effects affecting the child only after they are given vaccines.
